Senior Sexuality: Training for Healthcare Professionals

 
Sex among the elderly is one of today’s biggest taboos, but as the Baby Boomers age, it is becoming increasingly critical for the staff in assisted living, nursing, and other senior care facilities to able to properly address the sexuality issues of their clients.
 

This interactive workshop will focus on the physical realities of older adults that affect sexual functioning, privacy rights, issues of consent when cognitive impairments are a concern, and the growing frequency of HIV among older populations. A standard of care that emphasizes sensitivity and combats ageism will be highlighted.
